Very basic sampled SG Custom with various playing modes.
KVR user Kriminal recorded and shared some samples of his Les Paul SG Custom, I decided to take his one-shots and stuff them into a playable instrument. It is very simple to handle and most of the controls are self-explaining.
The original samples started at E2, I have extended them downwards to B1 to give users the possibility of playing in Drop-D and 7-string tunings. !!! Note that everything beneath E2 is pitched and resampled, sounds fine to me but a difference in timbre and harmonic content might be audible.
Features a polyphonic "chord" playing mode in which the samples will continue to play even after you release the keys. To mute them, just play same notes again with a MIDI velocity of 20 or less.
Polyphonic mode uses string release groups to mimic the behaviour of a real guitar, so you can't play more than one note per string at a time. This enables you to "strum a chord", keep it ringing and then play a variation note or riff while the actual chord is still playing.
The two playing modes can be switched with key switches, and the instrument also contains some Guitar FX and noises.
The coloured bars above the GUI keyboard show you where the key switches, mute notes and slides are, and how the strings are divided and distributed over the keyboard.
Because some people have asked for them, the original (un-re-tuned) samples by Kriminal are now also hosted here.
